Mary's love of horses began when she was very young. Her greatest wish was to be able to ride. However, coming from a non-horsey family of ten kids, it seemed that her wish would forever remain just a wistful dream. But at age fifteen, Mary finally convinced her parents to let her have riding lessons. She loved it from the start and she soon became a working student at Waredaca. Mary valued not only being able to ride, but also learning how to handle and take care of the horses. She is now the assistant barn manager at Waredaca and she enjoys all the aspects of caring for horses, from permanently dirty hands and muddy boots to riding with the amazing Waredaca instructors.
